Northern NY Regional Council of FSCs

Notes - October 19^th, 2004

Present: Bill Mein (Potsdam FSC), Linda M^cDonald (Massena FSC), and Brenda Gravander (Potsdam FSC)

Old Business:
1. Calendar Updates. The calendar is located at http://www.northerncouncil.org. Our web site is updated as items are given to Bill. Competition dates are posted on the U.S. Figure Skating web site when they receive the completed sanction application. Bill submits test dates to U.S. Figure Skating to be posted on their web site.
2. Northern Council reimbursements and awards. Item was not discussed.
3. Northern Council ByLaws update. We will bring copies to the next meeting for review and start the updating process.

New Business:
1. Basic skills mailing from HQs There is material available from HQs on the U.S. Figure Skating web site.
2. National Skating Week is January 15 - 23, 2005. Each club should have received a banner to post wherever they would like.
3. Questionnaire sent to clubs. None were returned in time to bring to this meeting.
  It is time to change the way we do business. We will start by considering the revision of the Bylaws at the next meeting.

Club concerns. Brenda mentioned they have parents, with skates on, assisting with basic skills skaters. These parents are registered in the Basic Skill program with U.S. Figure Skating so they are covered by the blanket insurance policy
