Notes - June 14, 2004

  1. Present: Bill Mein (Potsdam FSC), Linda McDonald (Massena FSC), Kim Patterson (Massena FSC), Stacey Littlejohn (Massena FSC) and Jim Littlejohn (Massena FSC)

  2. Secretary's Report: Notes from the May 18th meeting were approved.

  3. Financial Report: Linda presented the report. Checking account balance as of 5/18/2004 was $175.24; CD balance as of 4/23/2004 was $4,191.48.

  4. Old Business:
    1. Calendar Updates. The calendar is located at http://www.northerncouncil.org. Our web site is updated as items are given to Bill. Bill submits competition announcements to U.S. Figure Skating to be posted on their web site.
      No new dates.

  5. New Business:
    1. May meeting. Noted several topics of interest to local clubs.
      1. Collegiate synchronized team size is now 12-20.
      2. Collegiate synchronized teams will qualify for U.S. Synchronized Team Championships at their respective sectional competitions commencing with the 2005-2006 season.
      3. A Conflict Resolution clause should be in each club's bylaws.
    2. ISU conference notes.
      1. Junior and senior synchronized team size remains at 12-20.
      2. There is a limit on the number of skaters on a synchronized team that can do a jump at the same time. It is now at least 3 and less than 1/2 the team.
    3. Bylaws update. We need a committee to update the Bylaws. They were last updated on 3/15/2004. Linda said she would assist in any way she can. Bill will try to get a committee together.
