Notes - August 19, 2003

  1. Present: Bill Mein (Potsdam FSC),   Linda McDonald (Massena FSC), Joan Wescott (Massena FSC), Colleen Aldrich (Ogdensburg FSC), Robert Neulieb (Clayton FSC), Mary Ashley-Carroll (Potsdam FSC), and Brenda Gravendar (Potsdam FSC)

  2. Secretary's Report: There was no report available.

  3. Financial Report: The August financial report was distributed. Current balances: checking - $547.78; CD - $4,117.19.

  4. Old Business:
    1. Calendar Updates - Additions and changes were presented. (The calendar is located at http://www.communitysights.com/nnyrcfsc). Our website is updated as items are given to Bill. Bill submits competition announcements to USFSA to be posted on their website.
      1. September 6, 13, 20 - Skill building (Jr 4:30-5:30; Sr 6:30-7:30) at Cheel.

  5. New Business:
    1. Northern Council Secretary: Bill reported Dianne has not returned e-mails or phone calls. We need to have a secretary. Brenda called folks from each club to try to get a quorum. Colleen Aldridge offered to see if she could assist us.

  6. Announcements:
    1. Bill visited the St. Lawrence FSC and presented their 50 year plaque he received at Norfolk.
    2. Brenda reports:
      1. There is a Risk Management Manual available from HQs. Each clucb should have one. There is a lot of useful information in it.
      2. Coaches liability. Coaches need liability insurance to coach at Cheel.
      3. The new test forms have judges' requirements on them. There is no excuse using an unqualified judge. If you do, the test may be rejected.
      4. If you change officiers, notify HQs.
      5. Test reports are now due in 10 days from the test.
      6. Bill noted that the on-line test preparation and reporting system should be available in late September.
    3. Mary commented that Lake Placid charges a surcharge of the test fee for any tests signed up after the deadline. Therefore, the fee is doubled. And, there are no refunds.
