Notes - October 16, 2001

McNamara's, Potsdam, NY
  1. Present: Bill Mein (Potsdam FSC), Dianne Loonan (FSC Watertown), Mary Martin (Norfolk-Norwood FSC) and Brenda Gravander (Potsdam FSC)

  2. Secretary's Report: Notes (not minutes as there was not a quorum) were sent to delegates.
  3. Financial Report - There is $461.66 in the checking account. The $5,000 CD matures on October 23 and will be rolled over. Bills are being sent to the clubs.
  4. Old Business:
    1. Calendar updates - Additions and changes were presented. (An updated calendar is attached.) Our web site is updated as items are given to Bill.
    2. Skate with US workshop - The workshop scheduled for September 30 was cancelled due to low registration.
    3. Jim Murphy's Computer Program - Jim will incorporate the new test forms into his program before sending our clubs the computer discs.
To thank Jim for his time, a dinner certificate will be sent to him.

  5. Announcements:
    1. A copy of the Skate with US video was sent to the Basic Skills rep of all clubs. The video goes through all elements and is a good teaching tool.
    2. The USFSA Nominating Committee worksheets have been sent to all clubs and are due November 15.

  6. Concerns:
    1. In order to register skaters or file test session data on-line, a club must utilize a credit card. A debit card will not be accepted.
    2. Clubs should bond positions that handle the club's money. The cost is approximately $100/year through an insurance company.
    3. For insurance purposes, it is required that all individuals - parents, skaters, paid staff, unpaid staff - who will be on the ice during Basic Skills time, be registered with Skate With Us. It is also true of USFSA ice time - anyone that will be on the ice during USFSA time must be registered with USFSA.

  7. Next Meeting: November 20th, 2001, 7:00pm, McCarthy's Restaurant, Canton, NY 13617
