Present: Bill Mein (Potsdam FSC),
Patricia Carvill (Massena FSC),
Linda McDonald (Massena FSC),
Bob Neulieb (Clayton FSC), and
Carolyn Gibson (Norfolk-Norwood FSC) .
Secretary's Report: Notes (not minutes as there was not a quorum)
from the March meeting were mailed to delegates.
Financial Report: A current financial report was distributed.
Old
Business:
Calendar updates - Additions and changes were
presented. (An updated calendar is attached.) Our web site is updated as
items are given to Bill. Of note: Stacy will be holding a USFSA
test session at St. Lawrence
Centre Mall Arena on the weekend of May 20th and 21st.
Bill also distributed the 2001-2002 competition
schecule - Internationals through Regionals (see the Northern Council
calendar for events in our area. Contact Dianne for a complete
list).
Regents Exams and Synchro Competitions -
The 2002 Eastern Synchro Competition has now been rescheduled for
January 31st - February 3rd, so there is no longer a conflict with the NYS
January 2002 Regents Exams.
Northern Council By-Laws - Work on the NC By-Laws continues
Judges school -
Bill will see Charlie Cyr at the May Meeting to see what the problem
with sponsoring a school is ... to date we have had no response.
New Business:
Funding for those going to the May Meeting in Las Vegas - Dianne and Bill will be going. A
suggestion was made to donate $500.00-600.00 per person to attend the
meeting. Those delegates at the NC meeting gave their consent to an amount
between these two figures. Linda McDonald will take a telephone vote to get
a quorum for this decision.
Governing Council Proposals - Bill discussed some of the proposals that will be brought up at the
May Meeting. He will present Northern Council concerns.
Nominations for Officers -
The offices of President and Treasurer are up for elections.
Carolyn Gibson volunteered to be on the nominating committee.
Linda McDonald offered to help.
Announcements:
The Rhode Island Superettes, a Junior Synchronized
Skating Team, took 3rd at the World Syncronized Skating Championships (1st
US Medal at any World Synchro Competition).
Club Concerns:
The question was raised as to whether or not one
person, who is a member of two clubs, can represent both clubs. If so, would
that person get two votes (one for each club), or only one vote. Bill will
check the By-laws and Robert's Rules of Order.
Next Meeting: May 15th, 2001,
7:00pm, McNamara's, Potsdam, NY

Gibson for Dianne Loonan
