Minutes - October 19, 1999
McNamara's, Potsdam, NY

  1. Present: Bill Mein (Potsdam FSC), Patricia Carvill (Massena FSC), Dianne Loonan (FSC Watertown), Linda McDonald (Massena FSC), Bob Neulieb (Clayton FSC), Kelly Mundy (Norfolk Norwood FSC), and Brenda Gravander (Potsdam FSC).

  2. Secretary's Report: The report was accepted with the following correction under the Secretary's Report. The minutes of the August, not July, meeting were mailed.

  3. Financial Report: Report was distributed.
    1. The CD ($5,228.63) matures on October 23. A motion was made and carried that the CD be renewed for a year.
    2. Clubs are paying their dues.

  4. New Business:
    1. Judges' School - Traditionally, a dance judges' school has been held the year following a freestyle judges' school. Bill will check on ice costs and available dates in July at Lake Placid. He will contact Karen Kelly to submit a sanction.

  5. Announcements:
    1. Bill has visited the Potsdam and Massena clubs. He would like to visit all clubs.
    2. Darren Patterson has received his precision referee appointment.
    3. 335 synchronized skating teams have registered with the USFSA. Doping will be conducted at Nationals. It was suggested that Jan Knickerbocker be contacted to once again present information on that topic.

  6. Club Concerns:
    1. Discussed pros and cons of hosting Adirondacks.
    2. Discussed the general lack of pros.
    3. Clubs are reporting that fewer skaters are registering.
    4. Discussed teaching and working on hockey badges on the same ice as figure skaters.

  7. Next Meeting: November 16th, 1999. 7:00pm, Canton pavilion
