- Membership:
- Introductory Membership A first-time member of USFS may register an
Introductory Member for one year at a reduced rate
($25 for the 2010-2011 year.)
- Parents Committee:
- Mentoring: Parent(s) of new skating members,
Basic Skills in particular are mentored by a
selected seasoned parent.
- Checklist: Create a
check off list for new parents to help them through the first
season.
- Goodie Bag: Prepare something for new parents and place it
in the Goodie Bags prepared for non-qualifying competitions.
- Special needs skaters: Kristin Adamczyk kadamczyk99@gmail.com
has offered assistance to whomever is interested.
- Competitions Committee:
- Expense Reimbursements: Reimbursements should be made for
expenses actually incurred.
- Maximums: Daily total $150;
$100 for room; $10 for breakfast; $10 for lunch; and, $30 for dinner.
- Basic Skills:
- Championship Series: Entry forms and related materials are
available on the USFS website.
- Mentoring: Assign a senior
level skater as a mentor. Schedule a session just for mentors and their mentee
once a month or so.
- Bulletin Boards: Everyone likes to see their
picture on a bulletin board. Update them regularly.
- Adult Skating:
- Changes to Passing Averages for some tests (Pre-Preliminary through Juvenile - no change):

in selected tests, regardless of the judging system used.
- Short Program Requirements: These requirements
for junior singles; novice, junior and senior pairs; and, synchronized skating will no longer
appear in the Rulebook; they will be on the US Figure Skating website.
- Well Balanced Programs: These requirements
for several division were tweeked.
- Synchronized Skating Teams:
- Intermediate skaters can cross over to juvenile, novice, junior or senior teams.
- Juvenile team size: 8 - 16 (from 8 - 12); majority under 12
- Open Juvenile team size: 8 - 16 (from 8 - 12); majority under 19
- Open Adult team size: 8 - 16 (from 8 - 12); majority over 18
